The Future...
Whiston Wildcats Junior Football Club has entered into a "Partnership" agreement with Oakwood Technology College, with the full backing of The School Governors and Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council.
Over recent years, The Club has continued to prosper and now hosts some sixteen squads and a thriving Nursery. Our continued success has required us to source more playing areas to cater for our expansion.
The Partnership means we can now produce a long term development plan for the facilities at Oakwood, possibly even in connection with TRC. This Development Plan may then form a basis from which we can approach the FA, local and central Government bodies and the Lottery agencies for grant funding support to cause the plan to become a reality.
Essentially, the Partnership is a scheme for shared facilities, which would enable us to place a building within the school grounds and provide us with the use of the football pitches. Although the planning is still in the early stages, our intention is to provide changing facilities, café, store rooms, treatment room and a lecture room in which to learn the theoretical aspects of the game.
The future is bright...
